These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles provided by Freres Car (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By making a reservation and signing the rental agreement, the customer (“you”, “your” or “the renter”) agrees to comply with these Terms and Conditions and the specific conditions confirmed for the rental.
These terms apply to reservations made through our website, directly with our team or through another authorised booking channel.
The rental agreement, booking confirmation and any written agreement concerning additional services form part of the rental arrangements.
If any specific condition differs from the general information on this page, the applicable written rental agreement and confirmed booking terms shall apply, subject to mandatory applicable law.
Reservations are subject to vehicle availability and confirmation by Freres Car.
When making a reservation, the customer must provide accurate information, including:
Full name and contact details.
Rental start and end dates and times.
Preferred pickup and return locations.
Selected vehicle or vehicle category.
Main driver information.
Any requested insurance options or additional services.
A reservation is considered confirmed when Freres Car has communicated its acceptance through the agreed booking channel.
A booking request or availability enquiry does not, by itself, guarantee that a vehicle has been reserved.
The customer is responsible for reviewing the booking confirmation and informing us promptly of any incorrect information.
The rental price is determined by the selected vehicle, rental duration, pickup and return arrangements, insurance option and any additional services agreed upon.
The applicable quotation or booking confirmation should identify the rental price and any known additional charges.
Depending on the reservation, additional charges may apply for:
Optional insurance or protection services.
Delivery or collection at certain locations.
Approved changes to the rental period or return location.
Missing fuel upon return, where the fuel policy requires a matching level.
Late returns or additional rental time.
Missing keys, documents or vehicle accessories.
Traffic fines, tolls or other charges attributable to the renter.
Damage or expenses for which the renter is responsible under the rental agreement.
No optional service or additional fee should be treated as accepted unless it has been properly communicated and agreed upon, or otherwise applies under the rental agreement and applicable law.
The customer should review the total price and applicable conditions before confirming the rental.
Insurance is an important part of the vehicle rental agreement. The applicable insurance arrangements and any optional protection must be confirmed before the vehicle is collected.
The insurance included in a rental, where applicable, is subject to the policy terms, limits, exclusions and conditions governing that rental.
Customers should confirm the coverage provided, any applicable excess or deductible, and the procedure to follow in the event of an accident or damage.
Freres Car offers a Full Insurance option on applicable rentals, subject to availability and the conditions communicated for the selected vehicle.
The price of Full Insurance, if charged separately, must be confirmed in the quotation or booking details before the rental is finalised.
Customers choosing Full Insurance must review the applicable coverage, limitations and exclusions before signing the rental agreement.
When the customer selects and pays for the Full Insurance option confirmed by Freres Car, no security deposit is required at vehicle pickup.
Under this option, the customer is not required to provide the standard rental security deposit as a condition of collecting the vehicle.
The no-deposit arrangement applies to the confirmed Full Insurance option and is subject to the terms communicated for that reservation.
This policy distinguishes the security deposit from other obligations that may arise during or after the rental.
The absence of a security deposit does not automatically mean that every possible cost, loss, damage, fine or contractual breach is covered by insurance.
Full Insurance coverage is subject to its applicable terms and exclusions.
Depending on the insurance policy and circumstances, the renter may remain responsible for costs arising from excluded damage, prohibited vehicle use, unauthorised driving, fraud, intentional damage or other circumstances not covered by the applicable protection.
Traffic fines, tolls, missing fuel, lost keys, missing accessories and other non-insured charges may remain payable where the renter is responsible for them under the rental agreement.
The precise scope of cover and any applicable exclusions must be explained in the relevant insurance terms.
In the event of an accident, theft, attempted theft or vehicle damage, the renter must:
Ensure the safety of all persons involved.
Contact the relevant emergency services or authorities where necessary.
Notify Freres Car as soon as reasonably possible.
Obtain the required accident report or official documentation where applicable.
Cooperate with the insurer and provide accurate information.
Follow the procedures specified in the rental agreement and insurance policy.
Failure to follow applicable reporting requirements may affect the handling of an insurance claim, subject to the terms of the policy and applicable law.
Where the customer does not select Full Insurance, a security deposit may be required according to the vehicle, insurance arrangement and confirmed rental conditions.
The amount and method of providing the deposit must be communicated before the rental is confirmed.
The deposit is intended to provide security for obligations covered by the applicable rental agreement. It is not an additional rental fee.
Subject to the rental agreement and applicable law, the deposit may be used to settle properly documented amounts for which the renter is responsible.
Any remaining refundable amount must be returned or released in accordance with the applicable terms and payment arrangements.
The customer should confirm the deposit amount, payment method and return procedure before collecting the vehicle.
The main driver must satisfy the age, driving licence and other eligibility requirements communicated for the selected vehicle.
The applicable minimum age and required driving experience may depend on the vehicle category and rental conditions.
Before confirming a reservation, customers should verify that they meet the requirements applicable to their rental.
Freres Car may decline to hand over a vehicle if the main driver does not satisfy the applicable eligibility conditions or cannot provide the required documents, subject to the booking terms and applicable law.
At vehicle collection, the renter must present the documents requested for the reservation.

An extension or change is subject to availability and may affect the rental price or additional charges.
The renter must contact Freres Car as soon as possible if the vehicle cannot be returned at the agreed time.
A late return or unauthorised extension may result in additional rental charges or other consequences specified in the rental agreement.
The amount of any additional charge must be determined according to the applicable confirmed rental terms and law.
The renter should not assume that a requested extension has been approved until confirmation has been received.
